About Maria

Having grown up dancing and performing I went on to train professionally at LIPA (Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts). I loved performing and training my body to become as fit and strong and expressive as possible. However, alongside this intense training, I did suffer with a number of injuries, I often felt frustrated at not being able to understand the cause of the injury. This made it impossible to be able to correct these issues properly and more importantly, prevent them!

A few years later I happily became a Mum to three lovely children.

Whilst pregnant I suffered with terrible pelvic girdle pain in each of my three pregnancies. Once my youngest child had turned one and I still was suffering with pain, I took myself to a rehab-focused, pilates class, I haven’t looked back since.

This led me to the desire to qualify as an instructor myself.

I love the simplicity of exercises performed with precision and optimal technique for maximum gains. Having the ability to help clients back to doing the activities they love without pain is always my aim and is one of the most satisfying parts of my job.

I love the challenge of making each client’s rehab bespoke to their needs. This takes into account not only their injuries, but the recommendations of their Osteopath or Clinician, the activities that they would like to return to and the time they have available to do dedicate to their rehab.

I enjoy continually training and upskilling so that I can offer the most up to date, evidence based,
effective rehab service possible. Currently this means training to be able to use various equipment, including larger pilates based tools to aid a client’s rehabilitation.
I am always continuing to deepen my knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics.

Outside of work I love spending time with my family, getting outside as much as possible, gardening, cooking, knitting, going to the theatre and visiting art galleries.
