"I have always had a fascination of how the human body and mind work and how they are so beautifully connected to each other"

About Lucy

I have always had a fascination of how the human body and mind work and how they are so beautifully connected with each other. Even as a small child, I would charge my family 10p for a massage and I loved how it made me feel to help them feel better and more relaxed. I qualified as a Clinical Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist in 2014 after a career in the military as a musician. My massage training was with the very reputable Massage Training School and I am now a proud member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage (ISRM).

Further in line with my passion to help people, I qualified as a Personal Trainer as I left the military and worked for 5 years as a PT in a community gym, specialising in rehabilitation back from injury, chronic illnesses and conditions. It was during this time I also fell in love with yoga and it's great mind-body benefits. This eventually led to me embarking on a 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Since qualifying as a yoga teacher, the flame was lit for me to really explore the physical and mental benefits of yoga. I also trained in pregnancy yoga, accessible yoga (making yoga truly accessible for all!), pregnancy massage and pre and post natal fitness.

My curiosity of the human body eventually led me to osteopathy. After spending years being inspired by osteopaths and their seemingly magical powers, I let go of my fear of being a mature student and dived into studying osteopathy. After having a break from studying to have my (now two year old) son, I am on the home stretch with 1.5 years to go before qualifying as an osteopath!

Having moved to the area in early 2023, I kept driving past the Back to your Feet sign outside Emma's clinic and thinking "I must check it out!". I'm very pleased I did and very pleased to be part of the team as a Rehabilitation, Yoga, Pregnancy and Sports and Remedial Massage Practitioner. Offering tailor-made rehabilitation programmes incorporating bespoke yoga and remedial exercises, working alongside two very experienced osteopaths who will help to oversee the programmes.

I like to spend any spare time I have (ha!) hanging out with my 2-year-old, yoga-ing, walking and hiking in beautiful places and spending time with my family. My husband is a very keen boulderer so you will often find me and my son in the Peak District and such-like watching him climb- sometimes we get on the rock too!
